Donate to the DARE Scholarship for SSDP2018
Deadline January 31 at 11:59pm EST
Since its founding in March 2011, Students for Sensible Drug Policy’s Diversity Awareness Reflection and Education (DARE) Committee has taken on the challenges of strengthening diversity in all its forms within SSDP. DARE does this by creating a welcoming, open, & safe space for all stakeholders.
We are fundraising to collect contributions for our DARE Scholarship Fund to help students attend SSDP2018, our next international conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Our goal is $5,000, which would help approximately 20 outstanding SSDPers get to the conference and bring in speakers for DARE-intentional programming.
SSDP uses drug policy reform and education as a vehicle to help young people understand the political process and the most relevant social justice issues in our world today. With over 4,000 members and nearly 300 chapters in 27 countries and growing, this is one of the most worthwhile investments in the future that you can make.

Check out this student testimony from SSDP2017:
“I’ve had a week to reflect upon my experiences from the conference, and I feel as if I still haven't been able to process the tons of information I acquired. The time I spent in Portland has changed how I've thought about the use of substances, and has made me feel vastly more empathetic towards people incarcerated/stigmatized because of the War on Drugs. My time at SSDP2017 has given me increased motivation to help form and grow an SSDP chapter at the University of New Mexico during my first freshman semester. I feel as if this conference has opened greater doors for me in terms of career choices and activism. I am extremely grateful for receiving an SSDP DARE scholarship. The experience I had wouldn't have been possible had it not been for this astounding community's support and aid that helped my friends and I fly to Oregon to help end the War on Drugs.”
Please donate by 1/31/2018 to help students attend the Students for Sensible Drug Policy conference, and invest in the future of the drug policy reform movement.
